The Work
What our assessors actually do.
As a contracted Clinical Assessor with TRT, you complete full assessment packages for behavioral health agencies that contract with us — primarily MHRS providers serving adults and youth across Texas.
Each assessment package includes four components: a psychosocial evaluation, a clinical assessment, a CANS or ANSA (depending on the population), and an individualized service or treatment plan. All documentation is completed inside the contracting agency's CMBHS environment. Assessments are conducted via telehealth or in-person field visits, depending on the agency's protocol and the client's needs.
You set your schedule. You decide how many packages you take per month. We handle the agency relationship, onboarding paperwork, credentialing coordination, and the administrative overhead. You do what you were trained to do.
Qualifications
Full licensure. Full respect.
Full Texas Licensure
LPC, LCSW, or LMFT — active and unrestricted. We don't contract associates, provisional licensees, or clinicians under supervision. The full-licensure standard is how we protect clinical quality and keep our agency partners compliant.
Assessment Fluency
CANS or ANSA certification, or willingness to complete certification before your first assignment. Comfort with psychosocial evaluations, clinical assessments, and individualized service planning. Prior MHRS or community mental health experience is a strong plus.
Independent Contractor Mindset
You carry your own malpractice insurance, file your own 1099 taxes, and set your own schedule. In exchange, you're not tied to productivity quotas, payroll deadlines, or the internal politics of a single employer.
How It Works
Transparent pay. Clear process.
TRT pays a flat rate per completed and accepted assessment package. Volume is flexible — our contractors range from clinicians taking a handful of packages per month as a side income to clinicians building full-time practices around this work.
Payment is issued on a schedule set at onboarding (typically bi-weekly or monthly). No minimum number of packages is required, and no maximum applies. You take what fits your life.
Onboarding typically takes one to two weeks and includes contract execution, W-9, malpractice verification, CMBHS orientation with the client agency, and a walk-through of the assessment package standard.

Join the Network
Two steps to get started.
Step one: Complete our clinician interest form. It takes about five minutes and asks for your license information, relevant experience, and desired volume.
Step two: If your background aligns with current agency needs, we'll schedule a brief call to walk through the role, answer your questions, and outline the onboarding process.
We don't ghost applicants. If we're not a fit right now, we'll tell you — and we'll let you know if that changes.
